HOW OLD DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BE TO JOIN STARMAKER?
- We take children from primary school age of 4/5 years
HOW CAN I SIGN MY CHILD UP FOR A TRIAL MONTH?
- All you need to do is complete the application by clicking the ‘apply now’
- Please take a look at the section BOOK A TRIAL for all information
HOW MUCH DOES THE TRIAL MONTH COST ?
- The trial month is offered with 50% discount.
- Each 3 hour Saturday is at the 50 % discounted rate of £11.40.
- Depending on how many Saturdays there are in a month determines the price.
- For example if there are 3 Saturdays in the trial month the price would be £34.20 for one child.
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR ?
- During the trial month children should wear comfortable clothes such as leggings or joggers as they will be moving and dancing in classes.
- It is important that your child wears trainers or pumps. No shoes or sandals as these are not suitable for dancing.
- After the trial month, your child will be expected to wear the Starmaker Uniform which can be purchased from the Starmaker Shop.
DOES STARMAKER PUT ON ANY SHOWS
- Starmaker students have the opportunity to take part in two shows per year. One at the end of term One and one at the end of term three.
- The summer show at the end of term three does carry an entry fee of £10.00 per student.
ARE THE COSTUMES FOR THE SHOWS EXPENSIVE LIKE AT A DANCE SCHOOL?
- The simple answer here is NO.
- We are NOT like dance schools where each dance costume can be £40 +
- We do our best to keep all costume costs to a minimum. We re use costumes time and time again.
- There will be costume costs, however they will be affordable.
WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT PERIOD?
- GOLD & SILVER members, the commitment period is 12 months.
- BRONZE Members, the commitment period is termly.

DOES STARMAKER REQUIRE A REGISTRATION FEE ?
- Unlike other theatre schools Starmaker DO NOT charge a registration fee.
IS MY CHILD SAFE AT STARMAKER
- At Starmaker Performing Arts Academy we take our responsibility of safeguarding our students very seriously. The safety of all children attending Starmaker is of the upmost importance to us.
- All team members and volunteers hold Enhanced clearance via the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly Criminal Records Bureau or CRB).
- All team members and volunteers are fully approved and registered chaperones, granted by their local authority.
- The Starmaker team & volunteers hold their Safeguarding Children Certificate Level 1 & 2 as required to become a registered chaperone.
- The Safeguarding officer at POUTLON is NATASHA BROOKE
- The Safeguarding officer at FLEETWOOD is LUCY SPENCER
- Please refer to our Safeguarding Policy for further information.
- All necessary insurance, fire safety and first aid protocols are established within each Starmaker academy.
HOW DO I PAY FOR THE TRIAL SESSIONS OR MEMBERSHIP ?
- All payments are made via the payment ap GO CARDLESS.
- The principal will contact you and share a link with you for you to complete.
- For the trial sessions, a one off payment will be collected to cover the trial month.
- If your child would like to join Starmaker, the Starmaker accounts team will be in contact with you to confirm the membership you have chosen. It is then that the accounts team will set up on your behalf the payment via Go Cardless to cover your membership option.
- Gold fees are collected on the 1st of the month for the full 12 months. 10% Discount applied.
- Silver fees are collected on the 1st of every month. This is a 12 month credit agreement.
- Bronze fees are collected on the 1st day of each term.
- If your child does not want to join Starmaker, your Go Cardless customer set up will be deleted.
DO YOU OFFER SIBLING DISCOUNT
- Yes 20% sibling discount is applied.
HOW MANY SATURDAYS ARE IN A STARMAKER ACADEMIC YEAR?
- Starmaker opens for 35 Saturdays within an academic year.
- We are open term time only and have breaks every school half term.
- Unlike many other theatre schools/ dance schools we feel it is important for families to have the opportunity to go on holiday during school holidays without having to pay for lessons that can’t be attended.
HOW DO I KEEP UP TO DATE WITH STARMAKER NEWS AND EVENTS?
Each academy uses their own way to ensure that you are kept informed at all times.
STARMAKER POULTON USES:

- Whats App for instant communication to parents. This is a group whats app that you will be invited to join when your child joins Starmaker. Only the principal can message in the group to avoid all important information being missed.
